Electronic
wire transfers are an easy and inexpensive way to send or
receive funds. They may be sent
to domestic (United States) and foreign financial institutions
at fees much lower than
most financial institutions charge. Wire requests must be
made in person or by phone.
If you want to wire money from Campus Federal to another institution,
we will need the financial institution name and complete physical address, routing
(ABA Number), account name and number to be credited along with the physical address for the account holder as well as the following if the wire is international:
International wires require a BIC (Bank Identifier Code) or SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications) code (both terms are used interchangeably). Wires to all European countries now require a BIC or SWIFT code and the IBAN (International Bank Account Number).
The two codes can be obtained from the beneficiary’s account-holding bank. Any beneficiary bank that receives a wire without the necessary codes will be entitled to reject that payment and return the funds to the sending party, in addition to charging a fee. Some banks may choose to process payments without the codes, and continue to charge an additional service fee. Please note that we have no control over the policy of outside banks.
Our goal is to provide you with excellent service and to process your wire in the most efficient manner. Thank you for obtaining this information.
