How is a Credit Union Better Than a Bank?
Unlike banks, credit unions are not-for-profit financial organizations
designed for the benefit of their member-owners. Earnings generated
from credit union activities are returned to the member-owners
in the form of lower loan
rates and fees,
and higher rates on
deposits. Management of a credit union is accomplished through
a volunteer board of directors and supervisory committee. These
individuals are personally responsible for overseeing the safety,
soundness and compliance of the credit union.

Campus Federal is a progressive financial organization providing
flexible, competitive financial and related products to meet
member needs at high levels of quality and service. We will
accomplish this while sustaining planned, diversified growth
which contributes to financial stability and sound financial
performance.
Campus
Federal Profile
One of the nation's oldest credit unions, Campus Federal was
issued charter number 79. Formed in 1934 by seven employees
of Louisiana State University, Campus Federal now boasts over
38,000 memberships. The common bond between Campus Federal and
LSU remains strong, along with the bond we've developed with
our additional select employee groups. Our offices
in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Shreveport serve one of the
largest member groups of any credit union in the state of
Louisiana. Participation in the Credit
Union Service Centers enables members to conduct basic
financial transactions nationwide and in areas of the state
where we do not have branch facilities.
