St. James Parade
Campus Federal participated in the annual St. James Mardi Gras parade. Thank you to all for making this parade a special time for the St. James residents.
LSU Vet School Open House
The LSU Vet School Open House was a huge success! Over 6,000 people came through the Vet School on Saturday, January 31, 2015. Thank you to all of our Campus Federal volunteers! A good time was had by all.
OLOL Wellness Program
Campus Federal has partnered with OLOL’s Wellness programs to promote Healthy Lives and Healthy Financial Education Habits. Since the first of the year, the groups has conducted (3) health fairs and recently took the show on the road to the Livingston campus with more to come.
Pre-Dental Workshop at the LSU Dental School
Campus Federal participated in the Pre Dental Workshop with the Dental School. This event gives undergraduate students from all over the state the opportunity to learn about the LSUHSC Dental School. The Dental School offered different classes throughout the day and a tour of the school. I was able to set up a table and talk about Campus Federal to these students. There were a variety of students from different colleges such as LSU, Southeastern, ULL, Nichol State, Xavier, Tulane…just to name a few.
Campus Federal cheered on runners at this year's LA Marathon! Our volunteers handed out water and powerade at a water station near mile 24 during Sunday's LA Marathon. Congratulations to all who participated!
Financial Education 2014 Year in Review
Throughout 2014, Campus Federal, with the help of Blaine Grimes, our Financial Literacy Coordinator, conducted 179 Financial Education presentations that included thousands of participants! In December 2014, 14 LSU Faculty and Staff members graduated from Campus Federal's Financial Education course. Congratulations to our Campus Federal graduates!
Campus Federal recently partnered with the Credit Bureau of Baton Rouge Foundation, EverFi and The Jumpstart Coalition to recognize high school students for completing a Financial Scholars Program. Over 100 students were recognized. Blaine Grimes, our Business Development and Financial Literary Coordinator, is pictured in the back third from the right.
The Big Buddy Program recently partnered with Baton Rouge Community leaders to celebrate its 16th Annual Day of the Mentor. After shadowing Blaine Grimes for the day and visiting the branches, James said he wants to start saving money ASAP and work at a credit union!
Campus Federal staff volunteered at the OLOL Tree Lighting ceremony this year and had a surprise visit from Santa!
Each year the LSU Honors College selects a semester read and community project for its students. This year's project was Hope for the Warriors and students sold wristbands on campus to support our service members and their families. Campus Federal sponsored the event and together helped students raise over $1800!
Campus Federal hosted the annual Geaux Pink fundraiser. Funds raised went to OLOL/Mary Bird Perkins to help in the fight against cancer.
