Pennington Biomedical Research Center’s ‘The Answer’ Event

‘Give Kids a Smile’ Day in New Orleans

LSU Rural Life Tea, Fashion and Fancies event
Campus Federal volunteers assisted with the LSU Rural Life ‘Tea, Fashion, and Fancies’ event. This event was a fundraiser for the LSU Rural Life Museum and LSU Textile Museum. Our employees held fundraisers in the form of bake sales, raffles, jeans days and more to support Our Lady of the Lake’s Children’s Hospital during 2016. Following our mission of community service and ‘people helping people’, we raised $8,386.42!
LSU Vet School Open House
The Campus Federal Team volunteered at the 35th Annual LSU Vet School Open House. The event was free and open to the public. Each year our team supports LSU by providing volunteers to assist with the event.
Dental School Graduation
LSU and Campus Federal marked the 12th annual Workplace Financial Education Graduation in grand style. LSU President, F. King Alexander and EBR Mayor-President, Sharon Weston Broome served as keynote speakers to congratulate the class. To date, just under 300 LSU employees have completed the program.
Interprofessional Education Day
Our Campus Federal Team participated in Interprofessional Day in New Orleans recently. The Center for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice coordinates student education across all six schools. Their goal is to prepare students to practice in teams, as team-based care results in improved health outcomes for our communities.
LSU Pre-Dental Workshop in New Orleans
Campus Federal participated in LSU’s Pre-Dental Workshop to assist college students in making informed decisions about whether to pursue a career in the dental field. It is jointly hosted by the LSU Pre-Dental Society and Dr. Toby Cheramie, LSUSD Director of Admissions. The day included presentations by administrators, faculty members and students. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in one of two tracks - dentistry or dental hygiene.

Christmas Decorations for Local Families
We donated Christmas decorations to Volunteers of America of Greater Baton Rouge. VOA has identified a Denham Springs area family recovering from the floods and an Old South Baton Rouge (OSBR) family from one of its family assistance programs. The decorations came just in time to brighten the holiday season! LSU Faculty Club Food Bank Fundraiser
The Faculty Club of LSU held its annual holiday fundraiser. Campus Federal contributed door prizes and several other donations. The event was a huge success! Funds raised went to the Baton Rouge Food Bank.

Campus Federal team members attended Fete de Fideles, Our Lady of the Lake College Annual Luncheon. The new name for the college was unveiled while honoring outstanding students and staff.
Campus Federal’s Blaine Grimes a member of the Louisiana Jump$art Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy attended the quarterly meeting in September at the Louisiana Bankers Association in Baton Rouge. Topics included the FINRA’s 2015 Financial Capability Study results, Your State’s Credit Report and the upcoming Financial Education Boot Camp.

Ron Moreau, Chief Development Officer, a member of the Sunrise Rotary Club recently attended the 7th annual Beer, Bands and BBQ event at the LSU Rural Life Museum. The event raised funds for St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Uniforms for Kids Program.

We participated in the LCMC Summer Savings Fair that they had at all of their hospitals including Children’s Hospital. The event allowed for LCMC employees to gather information and take advantage of savings products and discounts.

Financial Education for LSU Summer Scholars Program
Campus Federal conducted a Financial Education presentation to more than 40 students during the LSU Summer Scholars Program. The information presented ranged from Student Debt, Loans and the importance of Credit to name a few. Bryson Ellis, a Campus Federal Financial Services Representative and graduate of the program, was invited to speak.
LSU Freshman Orientation and Advising
Campus Federal attended Information Fairs held during Freshman Orientation, Advising and Preregistration (FOAP) for LSU. The events were held in the LSU Union and gave parents and students an opportunity to learn more about LSU and their many partners.
Summer Youth Employment Program
Old South Baton Rouge (OSBR) high school students participated in the Summer Youth Employment program work at various businesses across the city Tuesday - Friday. The students met with Blaine Grimes every Monday for the duration of the program for financial education training. Topics included: Understanding Your Check, Direct Deposit, Budgeting, Importance of Credit and Students Loans, to name a few. This program is sponsored by the Mayor's Office in partnership with the Big Buddy Program.

Our team attended the American Red Cross Power of the Purse event at LSU's Stadium Club. The event celebrates and supports the lifesaving mission of the American Red Cross and the Louisiana disaster response. Evening of Healers

New Orleans Kiwanis Club
We stay very active in our communities. Campus Federal’s Janet Kratzberg is pictured at the News Orleans Kiwanis meeting in New Orleans. Kiwanis has provided countless community service hours in the New Orleans area.
Providing financial education is very important to Campus Federal. April was Financial Literacy Month, so all during the month we were out teaching financial education. We provided a lunch and learn featuring Financial Education for LSU’s Dental school. Campus Federal’s Nichole Vicknair presented valuable information to the students who are going into private practice.
We were happy to support the Dean’s Reception for LSU’s Dental School graduation seniors.

Blaine Grimes attended the Annual Conference on Financial Education this month. The subjects and training materials ranged from financial education for youth to retired adults. Just over 100 individuals passionate about financial attended the conference. Pictured with Blaine are three Jumpstart Coalition State Presidents from St. Louis, Ohio and Rhode Island. Campus Federal is a long-time supporter of the Louisiana Jumpstart Coalition. April is also National Financial Education Month.
Urban Congress Conference
Anthony Ware and Blaine Grimes recently attended the Urban Congress Conference in Baton Rouge. Over 200 community leaders attended the daylong event to discuss everything from economic development to serving underserved communities.
