Credit unions first appeared in America in the early 1900's as a way for communities and groups to organize their finances cooperatively and be democratically owned by the members. Our very own Campus Federal was born in 1934 by seven employees of Louisiana State University. Today, Campus Federal has grown to serve almost 50,000 consumer and business members in Louisiana.
Our common bond between Campus Federal and Louisiana State University continues to remain strong. We also welcome the opportunity to serve anyone who is eligible through affiliation with LSU, Select Employee Groups (SEGs), family members, or who lives, works or worships in the city of Baton Rouge, Orleans Parish or the MSA of Shreveport, including Caddo, Bossier and Webster Parishes. If you do not fall within the above groups, you can join American Consumer Council (ACC) at no charge and become a member.
As one of the nation's first credit unions and one of the largest in the state of Louisiana, we will continue to serve you and with our philosophy that members come first. As a member of Campus Federal, you have a voice in everything we do. You elect the volunteer board of directors. You enjoy benefits in the form of competitive rates, online and mobile banking, and special rewards to just name a few. We're here to give back to the Louisiana communities that we serve. It's what we like to call the "Credit Union Difference." At Campus Federal, you're not just a member. You’re part of something special.
