Business Lender

Campus Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Business Lender in our Baton Rouge market.

Responsibilities:

  • Interview existing and potential business members requesting credit via new loan requests or a refinance of an existing business loan(s) as a result of a referral or initial contact.
  • Determine business’ needs, constraints, practices, and other as necessary to determine if the credit/loan request falls within Credit Union policy, whether the member business is eligible for membership, and if the request presents a fair and acceptable risk.
  • Assist member with loan application process in person, on the phone or electronically to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
  • Collect financial information and other related documents that are part of the application process, including but not limited to financial statements, tax returns, title, lease agreement, purchase agreement, resolutions, insurance policies, contracts, operating agreements, articles of organization or incorporation, etc.
  • Conduct initial and other site visits to verify business legitimacy.
  • Review documents and verify completeness of application packet. Submit packet to Business Credit Analyst for underwriting.
  • Understand and abide Regulation B and other Fair Lending standards.
  • Serve as point of contact for additional documentation as required for underwriting.
  • Input contact, tracking, and other sales or relationship data into origination/contact management/ sales system. Maintain relationships with Credit Union business members.
  • Track pipeline and ensures that adequate lead generation and production is achieved.
  • Develop business community resources and attend business community and LSU events to build business member base.
  • Act as point person for assessing merchant services needs, makes recommendations, submits merchant statements for and/or performs analysis, and assists business member in putting merchant services in place.
  • Cross-sell business members and potential members on other credit union business services.
  • Build, and perpetually modify/improve a personal and department-collaborated Business Development Plan to ensure adequate servicing and exposure to the LSU professional schools and related professional associations.
  • Plan, coordinate and follow up events to increase penetration and visibility into the LSU professional schools, LSU system components, professional trade associations, and general business community.
  • Based on the goals set forth by the Vice President of Business Services, develop new business deposit accounts and loan relationships and maintain existing business member relationships.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills; effective communication
  • 1-3 years business lending and business development experience
  • Credit analysis experience

Part Time Member Service Representative

Campus Federal Credit Union is now hiring a part time Member Service Representative for our Call Center. Ability to provide exceptional member service assisting members with inquiries, and account transactions. Identifies member’s needs, and provide solutions to cross sell products and services in all inbound and outbound initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist members via phone, fax, email, web chat, secure messaging
  • Open and close accounts
  • Input loan applications
  • Provide detailed information on business accounts
  • Cross-sell credit union products and services to enhance the overall relationship with members, to improve member retention, and credit union growth
  • Maintain a high knowledge level of all products in order to effectively respond to member inquiries and resolve issues
  • Assist members with accessing online banking, bill payer, automated phone service, remote deposits, external transfers
  • Provides all member service on bill payer issues.
  • Input outgoing wire requests
  • Order checks, credit cards, debit cards, ATM cards, stop payments
  • Updates members mailing address/contact information
  • Research account statements, check copies, copies of deposits
  • Resolve member issues in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • 3+ years member/customer service experience
  • Strong operational skills

Mortgage Loan Originator

Campus Federal Credit Union has immediate opening for a Mortgage Loan Originator in New Orleans. Applicants must be able to provide professional financial services to members related to financing the purchase of residential real property and the refinancing of existing mortgages secured by residential real property. This would include conventional and government loans.

Responsibilities:

  • Originate mortgage loans to meet CFCU and investor guidelines, performs mortgage loan origination and closing duties, including meeting with customers, procuring documents and signatures.
  • Develop business relationships with realtors, home builders, land developers, real estate attorneys, real estate appraisers, etc.
  • Represent Campus Federal Credit Union at business development functions and community events.
  • Establish and maintain a robust customer referral network that will generate the mortgage leads needed to build a healthy pipeline of potential loan applicants.
  • Meet with prospective loan applicants to evaluate their home financing needs, explain the available financing options and provide assistance with the customer’s selection of the loan program that best meets his/her needs.
  • Pre-qualify home-buyers who wish to know the maximum mortgage they qualify for prior to viewing homes for sale.
  • Provide appropriate follow up throughout mortgage origination process and make customer contact as necessary.
  • Cross-sell non-mortgage credit union products/services and provide referrals as appropriate.
  • Keeps current on guidelines and regulations.
  • Respond to inbound calls and email requests from interested/qualified borrowers.
  • Originate first mortgage purchase and refinance loans to investor guidelines.
  • Monitor marketplace for new products and services and rates. Research and recommend to management on new products/services as needed.
  • Recommend revisions to residential lending policies and procedures to management.
  • Provide various reports summarizing mortgage loan activities as requested.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience in mortgage loan origination
  • MNLS# required
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills; effective communication
  • Sales experience
