Campus Federal and LSU Human Resources Management Honor Program Participants.
The Financial Literacy Education Program Award Ceremony was held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2008 in the LSU Energy Coastal and Environmental Building Auditorium and Rotunda.
Campus Federal Credit Union launched the initial offering of this innovative 18 - week financial literacy program to 18 LSU staff participants individually selected by supervisors and the university's human resources department. The program is designed to promote overall financial awareness and improved personal money management skills. Blaine Grimes, Business Development and Financial Education Coordinator at Campus Federal Credit Union, employed a 14-topic curriculum that covered everything financial from basic banking terms and credit reports to the wise use of credit cards and owning your own home. The program participants who successfully completed the course will receive rewards including cash that may be applied towards a down payment or closing costs for a home.
Weekly classes accommodate job schedules of the participants and the sponsor LSU, which allows employees to take advantage of the program during working hours. LSU employees will be notified of future openings to participate in the program.
