Campus Federal Credit Union's Board of Directors has three (3) expiring terms and one (1) vacancy of an unexpired term, which was filled by Yvette Marsh in December 2010, by board appointment. The three (3) board members occupying the expiring terms have accepted the nominations for another three (3) year period. Additionally, Ms. Marsh has accepted the nomination to fill the remaining months of the three (3) year term, as described in the Campus Federal bylaws and required by The National Credit Administration (NCUA). The nominating committee, made-up of current board members, will place these names before the membership for re-election in March 2011: Donna Torres, Lou Spera, Stacey Simpson, and Yvette Marsh.
Members who are not nominated but who are interested in running for a seat can be nominated by petition. The petition must be signed by a minimum of 1% or 389 of the Campus Federal Credit Union membership in good standing, as of September 30, 2010. Accompanying this petition should be a statement of qualifications, biographical data, and a letter from the nominee that he/she is agreeable to the nomination and will serve if elected. Mail these items to Campus Federal Credit Union, Attention: Nominating Committee, P. O. Box 98036, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70898. All petitions must be received no later than Thursday, February 10, 2011. If no petitions are received, the nominees listed above will be seated to the Campus Federal board.
Information on nominees for Board of Directors
Yvette Marsh was appointed to the board in December 2010 to fill an unexpired vacancy. She is currently the Director of Training and Development and IT for Human Resource Management at Louisiana State University (LSU) located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she has been employed for seven years. Marsh has a Master of Science degree in Information Systems and Decision Sciences from LSU and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Human Resource and Leadership Development. She has been a member for over twelve years.
Louis "Lou" Spera has served on the board for 25 years. He is the retired Fiscal Analyst with the LSU Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans. He was employed with LSUHSC in New Orleans for 40 years having worked in computer services and in the office of Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance. Spera has been a member of Campus Federal since the late 1970's and has been involved in the decisions that have taken Campus Federal from a small operation to where it is today.
Donna K. Torres, CPA has served on the board for four years and served as the Supervisory Committee Chair for over ten years prior to her tenure on the board. She is currently the Associate Vice Chancellor for Accounting and Financial Services at Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, La. Torres is a CPA and brings over 30 years of experience in various areas - public accounting, insurance administration, retail administration and government/higher education administration. Torres has been a member since she became an LSU employee - for almost 20 years.
Stacey T. Simpson was appointed to the board in August 2009 to fill an unexpired vacancy. She is currently the Business Manager of the Department of Surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she has been employed for eleven years. Simpson has a Master of Health Administration degree from LSU Shreveport and is a longtime member of the credit union. She has enjoyed her time on the board assisting in strategic decisions that will secure the long-term viability of the credit union.
