Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, the three national credit reporting agencies in the United States, have jointly announced they are offering free weekly credit reports to all Americans for the next year to help them protect their financial health during the sudden and unprecedented hardship caused by COVID-19.
Consumer credit reports from the credit bureaus provide potential lenders, creditors, service providers and other businesses with your credit history, which is a record of your credit and payment activity as a way to decide whether or not to extend financial opportunities and other loan offers to you. Your credit report plays an important role in your financial health and it is important to remain vigilant about reviewing your credit activity, especially during uncertain times when you may not be able to pay your bills on time and have requested assistance from your lenders.
The free weekly reports are now available at AnnualCreditReport.com. If you would like to learn more about credit scores and other tips to manage your finances, visit the Campus Federal Financial Fitness Center.
