Sallie Mae Offers Assistance for Borrowers Affected by COVID-19

April 16th, 2020

While the world around us has significantly changed, Sallie Mae’s mission remains the same, and they are open for business. In addition to providing support to our members – including payment assistance for students and graduates experiencing financial difficulties during this time – they continue to offer the same tools, resources, and financing options that we have come to expect from Sallie Mae.

If you have been impacted by the coronavirus and need help with your Sallie Mae account, they have assistance options available to help borrowers keep their account in good standing during this health emergency. If requested, Sallie Mae will suspend student loan payments for up to three months, without an impact on the borrower’s credit standing. Interest that accrues during this period will not be capitalized.

You can access your account anytime using SallieMae.com or the Sallie Mae app to manage your account, view transactions, check a balance, make payments, change passwords, and more. Sallie Mae customer service agents are available to assist borrowers online via chat and through the Sallie Mae app or at 800-4-SALLIE (800-472-5543).
