Consumer Lending Specialist

Responsibilities Include:
- Interviews applicants and completes loan applications by phone, web, and video chat
- Makes credit decision for small dollar loans, i.e. up to $5K
- Performs loan closing by thoroughly explaining to the member all aspects of the promissory note and other necessary disclosures and documents
- Participates in the sales development activities to include credit protection insurance, Gap and warranty and cross sells to be approved by underwriting
- Assumes responsibility for adherence to Credit Union policies and procedures and the fulfillment of all state and federal regulations
- Provide accurate information to members in relation to rate, product terms and Campus Federal lending products and services
- Process direct motor vehicle loans
- Work with front line staff to finalize direct vehicle related loans
- Provide courteous and professional service to members, staff, and dealerships
- Determine documentation, taxes, fees and complete and process paperwork to obtain vehicle transfer and/or lien perfection through appropriate state Tag Agency/Secretary of State/Coast Guard/FAA/Wildlife & Fisheries; exercise authority to correct if necessary
- Ensure loan is properly collateralized
- Prepares letters to include payoffs to creditors, ensure automatic payments are set up accurately; perform income verifications
- Manages the documentation risk to Campus Federal and makes document decisions. Controls, coordinates and executes the funding of loans. Exercises authority to withhold funding of transactions that do not meet guidelines
- Maintains a working knowledge of all Credit Union products and services
- Performs follow-up calls and e-mails to members with pending loan applications
- Perform other duties as requested in support of underwriting
Please note: This position will have lending authority and will require MLO registration
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED and minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial institution
- Lending knowledge required
- Knowledge of banking rules and regulations
