Campus Federal Credit Union proudly partnered with Louisiana State University to sponsor the 2026 LSU Colloquium, held last month by the LSU Office of Academic Affairs and the Learning & Teaching Collaborative (LTC). This year’s program focused on “Teaching Presence and AI Literacy," featuring a keynote from AI researcher Marc Watkins.

The event featured a keynote address from Marc Watkins, an AI researcher, lecturer and director at the University of Mississippi, along with remarks from Brian Ainsworth, Campus Federal’s Vice President of Business Development. Ainsworth addressed LSU faculty attendees regarding the specific financial wellness benefits available through Campus Federal membership.

Watkins directs the AI Institute for Teachers and serves as an Assistant Director of Academic Innovation at the University of Mississippi. An early researcher of generative AI in education predating ChatGPT, Watkins advocates for integrating the technology with “curious skepticism.” His work on faculty AI literacy has been profiled in The Washington Post and his Substack newsletter, Rhetorica.

Ainsworth addressed LSU faculty participants by highlighting the financial wellness resources and exclusive member benefits available to LSU employees through Campus Federal. He emphasized the credit union’s long-standing commitment to supporting the LSU community and helping faculty and staff achieve their financial goals.

The LSU Colloquium is an annual initiative hosted by the LSU Office of Academic Affairs designed to foster educational excellence by bringing together educators, researchers and thought leaders. The program is organized by the Learning & Teaching Collaborative (LTC), which provides professional development and resources to support faculty growth and student success.
